Ayurveda (the medicinal aspect of yoga), says that 90% of all diseases are caused by an excess of an energy called vata.
Vata is a nervous, anxious, busy and scattered kind of energy.
Vata energy becomes excessive when we over-schedule our lives, subject our nervous systems to too much stimulation, and spend too much time multi-tasking. Sound familiar? Most of us have excessive vata energy.
Signs of excessive vata include;
Over active or scattered mind
Worry / feeling overwhelmed
…the list goes on. Over time, excessive vata energy leads to more serious trouble in the body and/or the mind.
Fortunately, yoga offers us many tools for working with vata and bringing it back into balance.
Join me for a day of vata – reduction this fall (which happens to be vata season); Take some time to step out of your busy life and let your mind, body and spirit settle. We will ground our energy, breathe, let go and deeply unwind.
