Take some time to step away from the tension, stress and busyness of daily life and nurture yourself with this rejuvenating retreat.

We will gather at Aldermarsh Retreat Center on beautiful Whidbey Island. When you arrive at Aldermarsh you will feel completely removed from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The land at Aldermarsh is tranquil and soothing.

This retreat is an opportunity to let go of the daily grind, unplug and reconnect with yourself and with the healing energies of Nature.

We will summon and revel in these energies using several different modalities over the course of our long weekend. Read on to learn more about each one.

Yoga (Both active and restorative practices offered daily. Suitable for all levels and body types):

In each yoga practice you will be lead through a series of postures and breathing practices designed to harmonize your energy field with the energy of a particular element (water, air, earth, fire and space). This is a very old style of practicing that was considered a kind of natural medicine. You may find that it dramatically increases your physical, mental and emotional well-being.


Mindful Nature Walks:

tree.sun3The Japanese term for this practice is “shinrin-yoku”, which literally translates as “forest bathing.” Forest bathing is a kind of therapeutic mediation practiced out in Nature. This practice has been shown to significantly reduce levels of cortisol and other stress hormones, improve immune function as well as sleep and cognition. Spending meditative, deliberate time connecting with Nature has also been shown to facilitate a process of unwinding deep-seated mental and psychological tension. Energetically, forest bathing allows any energy that isn’t serving you or wasn’t yours to begin with to be reabsorbed back into the earth; Mother Nature is like a big sponge, sopping up any old, tense, outdated or predatory energy energy that is in your space.

I will facilitate and lead you through an easy and relaxing forest bath, during which you can experience these effects for yourself! I can also point out some of the medicinal plants that are growing in the area, if that is of interest to you.

Plant Spirt Healing:

“Plant Spirit” is a term that is used to describe the living and intelligent energy of a plant. Just as you and I have energy fields around and within us, so do plants. When we take herbal medicine for our ailments, it is not only the chemical constituents of the plant that heal us. It is also the energy, vibration, or spirit of the plant that makes it such a powerful medicine.

In a plant spirit healing meditation, I will guide you as you relax outside and connect with the energy of a particular plant or plants. As you connect with this energy, you will experience healing in various forms. You may feel the energy of the plant moving through your body, or you may receive insights about your life as it is now, or about your past and how it affects you. You may have an emotional release, or you may simply “feel better” in a general sense. Plant spirit healing takes the practice of forest bathing to a deeper level, so that we can receive even more healing, insight, growth and connection from Nature.

Sound Baths:

During a sound healing session (also known as a sound bath), the participants lie down in a comfortable, supported position. The sound healer “bathes” the participants in healing vibrations produced by quartz crystal singing bowls, gongs and other special sound healing instruments. All sound healing instruments are specially tuned to specific vibrational frequencies, including the frequencies of the chakras, the earth, the sun, or the moon.

During the sound bath, I will act as a medium and tap in to the energy of a plant spirit. I play the instruments accordingly, allowing the healing vibration of the plant spirit to come directly through the sound bath to you.

People often find that sound baths are very powerful and relaxing experiences. During a sound bath it is common to feel and “see” energy moving through and around your body, or to receive important insights or visions. Some people feel so relaxed that they fall asleep. No matter what happens during your sound bath, rest assured that when you are finished you will feel renewed and refreshed from the inside out!

During your free time, you may wish to rest quietly, soak in the hot tub, sweat in the sauna, read or take a nap. If you’re feeling more adventurous, you can visit the charming seaside town of Langley, take a hike or go to the beach, with all of these options located just minuets away from the retreat center!



These prices include lovely accommodations, all of the retreat actives as well as ALL of your meals and snacks, featuring local, organic and healthy cuisine. (All dietary restrictions can be accommodated as long as you let us know in advance).


$690 ($230 per night) for shared accommodations. (If you have a friend or spouse coming with you just let me know and I will set you up so you can share your accommodations with them).

$745 for private accommodations.
