Ayurveda is the traditional medicinal system from India. It was developed thousands of years ago, right alongside yoga, and was meant to be practiced in conjunction with yoga in order to achieve optimal health and wellness.
In the Ayurvedic system, each individual has a unique energetic constitution that influences his or her physicality, personality, and psychology. Understanding this unique energetic constitution allows for extremely potent, individually tailored practices that balance one’s energy. Some of these practices include; detoxification, asana (yoga postures), pranayama (breath work), dietary and lifestyle changes, meditation and awareness practices, and herbal medicine.
